Markus Graf-Rosenfellner
Consulting engineer for plant safety
How did you come to join us?
I personally find the story of how I joined Müller-BBM quite exciting and interesting. I was looking for a new job and asked around among my study and colleague network to see which companies they knew and where I could apply. Two of them independently pointed me to Müller-BBM, specifically because of the employee participation model.
What I found particularly appealing on the homepage was that all employees were featured prominently with a photo. I always find that very friendly and approachable on websites. So I checked what positions were advertised. There wasn’t a role that matched my profile at the time. I then decided to submit a speculative application anyway. It was the first unsolicited application I had ever written in my life. And here I am!
What exactly do you do at MBBM?
I work at Müller-BBM as a consulting engineer for plant safety and also have personnel responsibility. My main focus is on safety during the operation and construction of industrial plants, as well as large agricultural facilities. This includes fire protection, explosion protection, plant-related water protection, and also issues related to major accidents.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I find especially rewarding about this role is that from day one I felt valued by clients as an expert. I’m not just writing reports that nobody cares about – I can directly see the impact of my work and recommendations during development or operations. And that’s on major projects. That sense of appreciation motivates me to come to work every day.
What advice would you give to potential applicants?
What you enjoy doing, you do well. And what you do well, you get paid for. I’d advise every applicant, regardless of Müller-BBM, to keep this principle in mind. If you realize you don’t enjoy dealing with approval procedures and industrial plants, then I wouldn’t recommend applying to Müller-BBM. But if you believe you’d enjoy working on approval processes and developing industrial facilities, then Müller-BBM is the employer that provides the framework for you to love coming to work every day.
Describe MBBM in three words.
For me, Müller-BBM means team spirit, challenge, and fun at work.
