Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
VOC refers to the measurement and analysis of volatile organic compounds in air samples. These compounds can originate from various sources and may have potentially harmful health effects. As a service provider, we conduct high-resolution analyses to determine VOC concentrations and ensure compliance with legal limit values.
Your Benefits:
- High-Precision Analyses: Our advanced analytical systems enable accurate detection of volatile organic compounds, delivering reliable results. This is especially important for indoor air investigations using solvent desorption and thermal desorption methods according to VDI 2100 Part 2 and DIN EN ISO 16000 Parts 5 and 6.
- Quality-Assured Procedures: By integrating proven methods into our laboratory operations, we offer the highest quality and reliability in analysis. This includes active sampling with recommended carrier materials such as Anasorb 747 by SKC and laboratory-prepared Tenax®.
- Comprehensive Consulting: In addition to analysis, we support you with our extensive experience and expertise in interpreting and evaluating results—rounding out our customer service offering.

Nitrosamines
Nitrosamines are chemical compounds that can occur in various industrial processes and products and are considered potentially carcinogenic. Since the integration of Isconlab into Müller-BBM Industry Solutions GmbH on July 1, 2014, we have been offering specialized analyses for the detection of N-nitrosamines in sampling phases, glass fiber filters, cooling lubricants, as well as consumer goods and everyday items made of plastics, films, and food products.
Your Benefits:
- High-Precision Detection: Using state-of-the-art analytical technology, we ensure accurate and reliable detection of nitrosamines, even at the lowest concentrations.
- Compliance with Safety Standards: Müller-BBM’s long-standing experience in nitrosamine analytics offers significant advantages for manufacturers, importers, and consumer protection organizations. Our precise and dependable analyses help manufacturers ensure the quality and safety of their products, while importers can verify compliance with international safety standards. Consumer protection organizations benefit from well-founded and reliable data to identify potential health risks and recommend appropriate measures.
- Building Trust: Early identification of nitrosamine contamination in products and the implementation of appropriate measures help reduce product recalls and legal consequences. This saves costs and strengthens consumer trust in products and brands.

Scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) is a powerful technique for high-resolution imaging and material analysis. Our SEM-based services provide precise and detailed insights into the surface structure of samples, which is of great importance across numerous application areas. Our experts perform high-resolution SEM investigations with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX) to analyze the surface morphology, composition, and structure of materials. These investigations are essential for quality control, failure analysis, and research in various industries.
Your Benefits:
- Precise Analyses: Our SEM systems enable highly accurate analyses in fields such as fiber analytics, material and component testing, microbiology, nanoparticles, damage and surface analysis. This ensures reliable results tailored to your specific requirements.
- Versatile Applications: SEMs can be used for a wide range of applications. This versatility makes them a valuable tool in industry, manufacturing, and construction.
