As an internationally active engineering company, we are represented by over 350 employees at 12 locations in Germany and a subsidiary in Austria. At Müller-BBM Industry Solutions, we investigate the effects of sound, vibrations, odors, pollutants, and electromagnetic waves on humans, machinery, and the environment. 2022

The company is celebrating its 60th anniversary.


Effective September 1, 2022, Müller-BBM GmbH will be renamed to 'Müller-BBM Industry Solutions GmbH'. In addition, the former BAU business unit will be spun off into a new, independent company.


Müller-BBM Industry Solutions GmbH employs 337 people and generates a revenue of EUR 43.7 million.

2021

By unanimous resolution of the municipal council of Planegg, a special honor is bestowed upon the company’s founder. The address will henceforth be Helmut-A.-Müller-Straße 1–5, instead of the previous Robert-Koch-Straße 11–13.


On May 7, 2021, our company founder Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ludwig Schreiber passed away at the age of 93.


The company employs over 450 people.

2018

Expansion of the Cologne branch. Relocation to a larger administrative building.


Relocation of the Gelsenkirchen branch to the newly constructed building at Fritz-Schupp-Str. 4.

Farewell to our company founder Prof. Helmut A. Müller, who passed away on September 15, 2015 at the age of 85.

Acquisition of Isconlab Gesellschaft für Umweltanalytik mbH in Heidelberg, the leading specialist laboratory for nitrosamine analysis, and integration of laboratory operations at the Planegg site.

Majority stake acquired by “Müller-BBM Austria GmbH” in “Tomberger-BBM GmbH” in Graz (Austria)

Opening of an office in Langebrück near Dresden. For the first time, a testing laboratory is accredited.

Opening of the Berlin branch. The company now employs a total of 135 staff members.

Opening of an office in Dresden.

1983

The “Air Pollution Control” division is established. The company employs 74 staff members.

1976

The company employs 54 staff members and moves into a new office building in Planegg near Munich, which is now its headquarters.

1972

Bolt Beranek Newman Inc. sells its shares, and the company name is changed to “Müller-BBM GmbH.”

1962

Helmut A. Müller integrates his Acoustic Consulting Office into the newly founded “Müller-BBN GmbH,” the predecessor of “Müller-BBM GmbH.” The founding partners are Helmut A. Müller, Prof. Dr. Lothar Cremer, Ludwig Schreiber, Dr. Manfred Heckl, and the company “Bolt Beranek Newman Inc.” (BBN) from Cambridge, Mass. (USA).

1958

Helmut A. Müller takes over Lothar Cremer’s office and continues it under his own name as the “Acoustic Consulting Office Dipl.-Phys. Helmut A. Müller.” In addition to the original core areas of building and room acoustics, new fields are added: industrial noise control, noise protection in urban planning, and noise protection in shipbuilding. The company gains recognition beyond Germany’s borders.

1954

Lothar Cremer becomes Director of the Institute for Technical Acoustics at the University in Berlin. His student, Helmut A. Müller, continues to lead the “Prof. Dr. Cremer Laboratory for Acoustics” in Munich.

1946

Lothar Cremer receives approval to operate a business as a consulting engineer for acoustics in Munich.
