Autonomous Statistical Pass‑By Measurement

Measure autonomously, evaluate objectively: Our autonomous measurement system aSPB is revolutionizing acoustic pavement monitoring.

Initial situation

Road surfaces change their acoustic properties over time. Regular monitoring is therefore essential to maintain quality standards and detect acoustic anomalies at an early stage.

However, traditional SPB measurements require significant personnel and time resources and are usually carried out only once per year. As a result, sudden level increases caused by aging, traffic load, or weather-related pavement damage may remain unnoticed for long periods – this can lead to high repair costs.

Solution

Our autonomous measurement system aSPB changes this fundamentally.

The autonomous Statistical Pass‑By measurement (aSPB) according to ISO 11819‑1 automatically records real pass‑by noise from numerous vehicles over extended periods of time. This creates a detailed and robust data foundation that accounts for fluctuations in traffic volume, different vehicle types, times of day, and various pavement surfaces.

With aSPB, significantly more measurement data can be collected with less personnel effort – both through a higher number of individual pass‑bys (e.g., via nighttime or multi‑day measurements) as well as through increased measurement frequency throughout the year.

The result:

  • Improved data foundation
  • Well‑founded planning of effective noise‑reduction measures
  • Targeted use of municipal resources and protective actions

Autonomous measurement without personnel

Real‑world conditions, reliable data

Solid foundation for noise‑reduction measures

At a glance

The measurement system operates fully automatically and enables:

Longer measurement periods

More frequent data collection

Measurements during low‑traffic periods (at night)

More extensive and more reliable datasets – without any additional personnel effort

aSPB – Efficient road‑condition monitoring with minimal effort!
