How did you come to join us?

My name is Niklas Löcherer (…) and I studied Electrical and Information Engineering at the Technical University of Munich. In my master’s program, I specialized in acoustics/audio signal processing. The biggest motivation originally was my great passion for music. I then worked for a while at the Chair of Audio Signal Processing at TU. During that time, I was able to attend DAGA 2019. There, I came into contact with Müller-BBM and had the chance to talk to some employees and learned about the “Reinhören” workshop. “Reinhören” is an introductory workshop where you gain insights into the company and, above all, get to know the very broad portfolio of Müller-BBM.

What was your onboarding like?

My first year at Müller-BBM went by very quickly, without feeling like I saw anything twice. So, a lot of new impressions; above all, very diverse impressions. In your first year at Müller-BBM, you have what’s called a mentor – a dedicated employee assigned to you who makes onboarding easier and introduces you to the most important areas. You’re quickly taken along to measurements, which means you get around a lot (…). Measurements play a major role for us in industrial acoustics. You see a lot – from the smallest pump to the largest industrial plant, power stations, chemical parks, and the like. So, there’s plenty to experience in the first year. Above all, you quickly take on your own projects and can assume responsibility very early on, which I really enjoyed.
