Active/passive mounting of receiver

Elastic mounting of sensitive equipment to reduce the vibration amplitudes introduced (-> vibration foundation). Passive systems are unregulated. Active systems require control electronics. They can also be designed to be rigid, e.g. using piezoelectric elements, but their suitability is limited by the system noise of the control electronics.
