Slit-tube probe

Specialised measurement technology. Slit-tube probes are used for acoustic measurements in flowing media. They reduce pressure fluctuations caused by flow turbulence at the microphone, which are incorrectly interpreted as sound (so-called ‘pseudo-sound’). Examples include the Neise probe and the Baade probe.
