New BASt research project launched

Motorcycle from behind, noise emissions

Measurements of motorcycle noise emissions provide the basis for the further development of road traffic noise prediction models.

Since 1st of August 2026, we have been working on the research project ‘Spectral emission model of motorcycles for BUB and RLS-19’.

The project updates the BUB emissions model for motorbikes and aligns it with RLS-19 in order to further improve the accuracy of noise calculations.

We carry out the necessary measurements in collaboration with TÜV AUSTRIA at the test site of TRIWO Automotive Testing in Pferdsfeld.

This two-year project is providing a vital foundation for the further development of road traffic noise modelling. We are therefore delighted to be part of this research project.
