On 22nd and 23rd April 22, the “Technical Acoustics” seminar in Planegg focused on the fundamentals of acoustics and vibration engineering and their application in everyday engineering practice. This focus stems from the growing importance of low-noise design in machines, devices, and systems, which requires in-depth technical expertise in product development.
The participants received a practical overview of measurement and analysis methods in noise and vibration measurement technology, the generation and transmission of noise, structure-borne noise in solid structures, and measures for reducing airborne, structure-borne, and vibration noise. Theory and practice went hand in hand: the content was presented in an accessible manner and directly applied to actual projects using practical examples.
The seminar was made particularly engaging through live experiments and guided tours of our testing and measurement facilities, where demonstrations included sound source localization, the determination of the sound power level, and vibration analyses.
The seminar was rounded off with a joint dinner on Wednesday evening, which provided an opportunity for personal interaction and discussions with our colleagues.
