Fire-fighting water supply

Fire-fighting water is required by the fire service to ensure adequate fire-fighting capabilities, taking into account the size and type of the building. The supply of fire-fighting water is usually provided via the public water supply system or the building’s own fire-fighting water storage systems. An adequate supply of fire-fighting water must be ensured for every building. The requirements regarding the quantities available are determined by the size of the respective building and, where applicable, any specific use of the building that entails an increased fire risk.
