Heat exchanger vortices
An aeroacoustic phenomenon. When fluid flows around heat exchanger tubes, periodic vortex shedding occurs. If the vortex shedding frequency is equal to an acoustic natural frequency of the duct, a clearly audible humming sound is generated.
