Ignition frequency

The number of ignition events per unit of time in a gas engine. At this frequency, significant sound emission levels often occur, which are transmitted via the exhaust system and radiated by it. In combined heat and power (CHP) plants, this often leads to undesirably high, low-frequency sound emissions via the chimney outlet, which must be suppressed by a silencer tailored to the engine and its ignition frequency.
