Interior acoustics (vehicles)

Interior acoustics refers to the noise levels and sound quality inside a train or rail vehicle. It encompasses noise generated by traction units, air-conditioning systems, ventilation systems and the interactions between the undercarriage and the rails. A comfortable noise level is important for the passengers’ well-being. In the train driver’s cab, aspects of health and safety and noise protection must also be taken into account.
