Measuring benzene and BTEX organic compounds – DIN EN 1466-2, VDI 2100 Sheet 2

The standard specifies a method for monitoring compliance with the European limit value for benzene in ambient air of 5 µg/m³. The method is based on the adsorption of benzene onto activated carbon, from which the benzene is extracted using a solvent. Following gas chromatographic separation from other components, benzene is detected using a suitable detector.
