Measuring benzene and BTEX organic compounds (passive samplers), DIN EN 14662-5
The standard specifies a passive sampling method for monitoring the European limit value for benzene of 5 µg/m3. The method is based on the passive adsorption of benzene onto activated carbon, from which it is extracted using a solvent. Following gas chromatographic separation from other compounds, benzene is detected using a suitable detector.
