Scoping

Before an environmental impact assessment (EIA) is carried out, a so-called scoping meeting may be held to discuss the scope of the EIA. To this end, the project proponent provides a suitable document setting out, among other things, the characteristics of the project and its potential environmental impacts. At the conclusion of the scoping process, the authority informs the parties involved of the scope of the assessment.
