Background noise

In acoustic measurements, background noise refers to sounds that do not originate from the source being measured. During acoustic measurements in industry, it is often not possible to switch off neighbouring sound sources and thus create measurement conditions that comply with the standards. By selecting suitable specialist measurement technology and procedures, background noise can be eliminated to such an extent during the measurement itself that it does not lead to an overestimation of the noise emission from the source being measured and a resulting misjudgement.
