Detailed acoustic analysis

Larger industrial plants, such as outdoor facilities, often consist of a large number of individual noise sources within a confined space. In a detailed analysis, the noise sources and transmission paths of an outdoor installation are measured individually – in some cases using specialist measurement technology (including pumps, compressors, pipework, valves, etc.) – and are generally taken into account in the calculation of the plant’s total radiated sound power level relevant with regard to immissions, based on the magnitude of their sound power. Such a balance enables noise control measures to be proposed in a targeted manner so that they lead to the most effective reduction of the sound power levels of the outdoor installation. Such detailed analyses require a high level of expertise in carrying out the measurements, as the sound emissions from all relevant sources and transmission paths, on which noise reduction measures are to be implemented, must be recorded.
