Distance in accordance with Section 50 of the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG)

Section 50 of the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) stipulates, among other things, that the distances between operational areas and corresponding uses requiring protection must be taken into account, particularly in the context of urban land-use planning. The KAS-18 guideline and distance regulations issued by the federal states are available to help determine these distances (safety margin or appropriate safety distance).
