Explosion safety testing (explosion protection testing, Ex testing)

The term ‘explosion safety testing’ generally refers to the tests carried out in accordance with Section 15 of the Industrial Safety Regulation (testing prior to initial commissioning or following a modification subject to testing, based on Annex 2, Section 3, Sub-section 4 of the BetrSichV) or in accordance with Section 16 of the Industrial Safety Regulation (periodic testing, at least every six years in accordance with Annex 2, Section 3, No. 5.1 of the BetrSichV). Systems located in potentially explosive atmospheres are subject to these inspections.
