Fire safety

Fire safety is primarily aimed at preventing fires from starting, preventing the spread of fires and smoke, and protecting people and animals. While the protection of property is also a goal of fire safety, it is not a factor in obtaining building permits under building codes. Fire safety requirements must also take into account legislation on hazardous substances and health and safety at work.
