Notification is a process whereby a competent national authority officially recognises and registers an organisation or body authorised to carry out specific tasks under EU directives or regulations. These organisations, also known as ‘notified bodies’, are authorised to carry out tests, certifications or inspections to ensure that products or services comply with applicable legal requirements.
