Preliminary EIA

A preliminary EIA (general or site-specific preliminary assessment of the individual case) is carried out to determine, on a rough basis, whether a project, due to its characteristics (e.g. scale, risk of accidents), its location (e.g. protected areas, ecological sensitivity) or, for example, the severity, duration and frequency of potential environmental impacts, requires an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
