Semiconductor manufacturing frequently involves processes that are highly sensitive to vibration. At the same time, technical building services, utility supply systems, air distribution systems and the production equipment itself generate vibration. Consequently, building design optimised for vibration control and low-vibration installation surfaces are essential prerequisites for reliable operation. Before installing sensitive equipment, vibration measurements are often carried out at the installation site (hookup support) to assess the suitability of the location and, where necessary, to identify mitigation measures.
